Our Elder Law Services
Wills, Powers of Attorney and Living Wills
We write these documents specifically for the needs of seniors, and tailor then to each individual client.
Pre/Ante Nuptial Agreements
More and more seniors are entering into marital agreements. These documents can be written either before or after a couple has married.
Trusts
There are many reasons that seniors establish trusts. These documents can provide for a disabled loved one, they can protect family members from creditors, they can provide educational opportunities for grandchildren.
Guardianships/ Conservatorships
These are court proceedings that must be utilized to take care of incapacitated adults, or minor children, if there is no other way to manage the individual’s financial or health care decisions.
Special Needs Planning
This planning is done for a person who is permanently disabled, either through accident or illness, and who may be entitled to receive government assistance benefits. Our firm works closely with area personal injury attorneys, banks and trust departments, and the parents of disabled children to protect and preserve funds through this type of planning.
Medicaid/Long Term Care Planning
We counsel clients regarding TennCare/Medicaid, Medicare, Veteran’s benefits, long term care insurance, and other issues concerning paying for long term care.
Estate Administration
We help determine if formal probate is necessary or whether alternative procedures are sufficient to accomplish the smooth transition of estates from one generation to the next.
